Audio Optimum NOS-DAC

Product information "Audio Optimum NOS-DAC"

It is now widely known in the audio scene that the classic Philips TDA1543 multi-bit converter is sonically superior to the "modern" Delta-Sigma DACs when the more than unnecessary oversampling with digital filtering is omitted. Numerous DIY projects can be found on the internet, where multiple TDA1543 ICs, operating at the absolute upper limit of their maximum permissible operating voltage, are connected in parallel to achieve a higher output current and perform passive current-to-voltage conversion with a simple resistor to ground, while also foregoing an analog low-pass filter to suppress the mirror frequencies. These "analog" sounding DACs are also available as finished devices, for which up to 9000 euros can be paid, depending on the model. However, such circuit designs with overdriven ICs and passive current-to-voltage conversion are far from optimal. The Audio Optimum NOS-DAC proves that with intelligent circuit design using just a single TDA1543, an even higher level of sound quality can be achieved at a reasonable price.
